About This Project

Hereafter some examples of algorithms used to generate music, dance structures, light and video.

A preliminar study for Expansor, a composition for a single marimba bar written for percussionist Juanjo Guillem. The algorithm is  written in Supercollider programming language and chooses between the different timbres (marimba bar areas), accents and durations.

Polyrhythmic structures for synthetic percussions and synthethic voices

A rhythmic study for synthetic percussions, synthetic voices and dynamic Stochastic sound synthesis. All sounds are synthetic . What sounds is a single and unedited run of the algorithms written in Supercollider language.

Simulation of a contemporary jazz pianist improvisation using several stochastic functions to control the parameters of an improvisation. The software chooses between scales and related transpositions for each hand employing particular random distributions for the tracing of the melodic contours, amplitude and chord formation. The rhythms are generated using sieves that combine ternary and binary beats and that are constantly renewed. It can play for hours, days or years…Here is a a short example of the result. The output is raw and unedited.

Random Walks

In this fragment of our production STOCOS, a simulation of brownian movement is used to directly sythesize the sound ( dynamic stochastic sound synthesis) and control music structure. The same abstraction is the source of the choreography and light patterns.
